October 23, 2025

Williamsburg, KY – Dayspring Health has announced a leadership transition following the resignation of CEO Larry Rector. The Dayspring Board of Directors extends its sincere gratitude to Mr. Rector for his dedication and service. His vision and commitment have been instrumental in advancing Dayspring’s mission to provide compassionate, high-quality care to the communities it serves. Mr. Rector has kindly agreed to help with the transition over the coming weeks, ensuring continuity and support for staff and patients alike.

To ensure a seamless transition, the Board has appointed Dr. Geogy Thomas as Interim Chief Executive Officer.

Dr. Thomas is a long-standing member of the Dayspring family, having served the organization for more than 25 years. He previously held the role of CEO, where his leadership guided Dayspring through significant growth, operational improvements, and expanded community impact. “Dr. Thomas’s tireless work ethic and commitment to our mission make him the right person to guide Dayspring through this season of transition,” said Carroll Lunce, Chairperson of the Dayspring Board of Directors. “We have every confidence in his ability to lead with steadiness, compassion, and a deep understanding of the communities we serve.”

Dr. Thomas will work closely with the Board and leadership team to maintain momentum and advance the organization’s strategic priorities during this period of transition.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to once again serve as CEO.  We have an amazing community with precious patients. Our hope is to be a medical home for our patients, where they know they are heard, they are seen, and will get high quality, compassionate care.” said Dr. Geogy Thomas. “Dayspring has a long history of responding to the needs of our communities, and I look forward to working with our dedicated team to continue that legacy of excellence and compassion.”
