Dayspring Health Announces Leadership Transition: Dr. Geogy Thomas Steps Down as CEO, Continues as Chief Medical Officer

Jellico, TN – Dayspring Health, a cornerstone of community well-being and healthcare excellence, is announcing a leadership transition. Dr. Geogy Thomas, who has admirably served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) since December 2020, will step down from his CEO role effective June 1. Dr. Thomas will continue to contribute his vast expertise and passion for patient care in his ongoing role as CMO.
During his tenure as CEO, Dr. Thomas has spearheaded numerous initiatives that have significantly enhanced the quality of care, expanded services, and reinforced Dayspring’s commitment to holistic, compassionate healthcare. Under his leadership, the organization not only navigated the challenges of a global pandemic but also emerged stronger, more agile, and more deeply connected to the communities it serves.
Dayspring Regional Health Center, a 50,000 square foot comprehensive medical center in Williamsburg, KY – opening this summer – will stand as a testament to his unwavering commitment to beauty and functionality for patients. From the ground up, Dr. Thomas led the planning and construction efforts, turning his dream of providing a comprehensive, state-of-the-art healthcare facility to the community into reality.
Dr. Geogy Thomas says, “It’s been a true joy serving Dayspring as the CEO. It’s been an even bigger joy watching the new Regional Health Center move from a dream to a reality. Over the past 24 years, I have watched patients struggle to get access to high quality care. It is tremendous moment as we close that gap with the opening of this beautiful, state of the art facility that will provide comprehensive, compassionate care for our community.
As the construction comes to an end, I am excited to step back into the role that I love dearly, which is providing medical care to my patients who have become dear friends and family through the years. Dayspring is stronger than ever, with a leadership team that will do amazing things in the years to come. My continued prayer for Dayspring is that we will be a Colossian 3 people, clothed “…with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forbearance, forgiveness, gratitude, and love.” Grace and Peace.”
The board of Dayspring is preparing to conduct a comprehensive search to find the next CEO who will build upon the solid foundation Dr. Thomas has established. In the interim, an experienced leadership team will ensure continuity and the unwavering delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
